George H.W. "Jim" Schmidt, 100 of Moline died August 10, 2006 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 11a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006 with a visitaton one hour prior at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
Jim was born June 4, 1906 in Moline to Henry and Anna Schaab Schmidt. His father was a former alderman of the first ward in Moline and owned Moline Brass Works. Jim was a resident of Moline, residing at 530-3rd St. A for 85 years. He married Ida D. Edens on February 22, 1964 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on February 10, 1991.
Jim worked as as shipping clerk/assembler for John Deere Planter Worker, Moline for 30 years starting in 1925.
Jim was known for his great memory and his good sense of humor.
He is survived by his
Cousin Otto (Marilyn) Schaab
He is preceded in death by parents, one sister and one brother.
