George B. Shinn, age 81, of Andover, IL, died Friday, November 19, 2010 at his home.
Graveside services were held at Andover Cemetery.
The former George Basil Shinn was born June 11, 1929, in Green County, Hillview, Illinois, the son of the late James Arthur "Elza" and Josephine May (Reese) Shinn. He married Marlene L. Sheraden on September 5, 1964 in Moline, IL. His wife Marlene preceded him in death on January 15, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jim Shinn and his sister Doris Barbara Shinn.
Mr. Shinn worked at the John Deere Planter and retired in June 1981.
He really liked to play cards, like Euchre, Back-Alley, Poker and Uno and have a beer or two. He liked to fish and hunt. For over 30 years he also liked growing a garden and canning. He also liked to watch his grandson race and visiting with his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
