Gerald L. Kight, 86, of Moline, passed away January 17, 2025.

Jerry served in the US Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. He worked at International Harvester and J&L Steel, and retired from AFLAC Insurance Company in 2006. Jerry enjoyed watching football and auto racing. His survivors include his children, Michael (Deana) Kight, Kimberly Schaefer, Lisa Mullen, Laura (Mark) Tapia, Lynn (David) Thompson, Cheryl (Rick) O’Connor; 12 grandchildren (and spouses); 10 great grandchildren; and brother, Ed (Leslie) Kight.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Icle Kight; and son-in-law, Michael Schaefer.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday January 24, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, with military honors to be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Christian Fellowship or any U.S. Veteran charity of choice.
