Gerry Lee Cruse, 60, of East Moline died January 11, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military rites conducted by East Moline American Legion Post # 227. Memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation or PAWS (Rock Island County Humane Society.)
Gerry was born November 15, 1946 in Moline to William and Erma Goettsch Cruse. He graduated from United Township High School in 1964. He married Rebecca L.Carpentier on August 24, 1968 in East Moline.
Gerry was a tool and die maker for CASE IH for 33 years retiring in 2000. After his retirement, he was a commercial truck driver for Centennial Contractors.
Gerry was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed restoring his '67 Chevelle SS. He was a member of Good Guys Car Club and Local Union #1306. He loved hot rodding, watching NASCAR and fishing. He especially loved the time he spent with his family and friends.
