Gertrude L. Foust, age 85, of Rock Island, passed away, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Bethel Assembly of God, 3535-38th Avenue, Rock Island. Burial is at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Gertrude was born February 26, 1925 in Rush Springs, OK, the daughter of Aaron and Ida Morris Sorrels. She married John D. Foust, Sr. on June 19, 1946 in Rush Springs, OK.
Gertrude was employed at Security Finance for 25 years, and later in the loan department at The Rock Island Bank for 12 ½ years, retiring in September, 1994. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Rock Island. Gertrude volunteered with Busy Hands at The Coventry Apartments in Rock Island.
