Gladys M. VanDerSnick Junker, age 90, a resident of Good Samaritan Village, formerly of Orion, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1402-10th Street, Orion. Visitation is from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. 1301-4th Street, Orion. Burial is at Andover Cemetery. Memorials may be made to
Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
Gladys was born December 23, 1920 in Tunstall, England, the daughter of Harry and Hannah Nash. She married Howard VanDerSnick on October 14, 1945 in Tunstall, England. She was a war bride and came to the United States in April, 1946.. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1981. She later married Arthur L. Junker on November 12, 1983 in Osco. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1995.
Gladys was a member of Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Orion. She loved cooking, playing bingo, sewing, gardening, traveling, and visiting with family and friends. Gladys was also a member of the Geneseo Moose.
