Gladys A. Mills, 89, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at East Moline Nursing & Rehab, East Moline, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in her honor. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Gladys was born on March 30, 1923 in Wichita Falls, TX, the daughter of Edward and Della Mae (McCormick) Nail. She married William Mills in 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1994. She owned and operated the Valley Diner in Coal Valley, IL. Gladys enjoyed bingo, cooking and for a time made ceramics. She loved to travel and talk.
She is survived by her son David Mills of Dumfries, VA as well as her grandchildren Steve and Teri Mills of the Quad Cities and Jennifer and Jessica Mills of Reston, VA. Her five grandchildren are Claire Mills of New York state; Randy Mills and Eric Mlekush of the Quad Cities; and Nicholas and Gabrielle Migliara of Reston, VA. Her sister Margaret Burney resides in East Moline, IL. Her daughter-in-laws are Dodie (Spencer) Mills of Moline, IL. and Julie (Duff) Mills of Dumfries, VA.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Jesse, and by her grandson, Randy.
