Glen William Fair, 98, of Orion, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Geneseo.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th St., Orion. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Western Township, Orion, where military honors will be conducted by the Orion American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Orion American Legion or the Orion VFW.
Glen was born on January 9, 1920, in Princeton, MO, the son of James and Lola (Watson) Fair. He married Carolyn J. Willard on September 26, 1946, in Moline; she preceded him in death on July 17, 2008. Glen worked as a mechanic at International Harvester Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He was a WWII veteran, having proudly served in the US Army Air Corp in New Guinea. Glen enjoyed restoring his ’34 Plymouth, gardening, and having coffee with his friends at Orion IGA. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Survivors include his son, Dennis (Jeanne) Fair, Andover; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Anderson, Orion, Brian (Jennifer) Fair, Andover, and Lindsey (Chris) Arnold, Orion; and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; son, Michael; and his parents.
