Glen C. Kron, age 87, of Moline, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is at Moline Memorial Park with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline.
Glen was born February 22, 1923 in Moline. He married Geraldine "Gerry" Hartman on November 22, 1947.
Glen graduated from Moline High School in 1942. He was employed as a Tool and Die Maker for John Deere Plow Works for 41 years, retiring in 1983. Glen was a member of the U.S. Army from 1942-1945, serving in the Philippines and Japan. He was a member of Moline American Legion Post #246, Moline Basketball M-Men's Association, Moline Dad's Club Baseball coach, and I.A.M. Union member. Glen was an avid fan of the Moline Maroons, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Kron, uncles, Alvin, Elmer & Clifford Kron, and infant grandson, Baby Boy Lohuis.
