Glendon James Baldwin

Glendon James Baldwin, 82, of Moline, died March 21, 2007 at his home.
Rite of Christian Burial will be 10a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline where he was a member. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. with a Knights of Columbus wake service at 2 p.m. and a rosary being recited at 5 pm. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery and Mausoleum, East Moline with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #246, Moline. Memorials may be made to Christ the King church and the Quad City Ostomy association.
Glen was born October 22, 1924 in Charles City, IA to Otto I. and Mary Ann (Girkin) Baldwin. He married Irma L. Van De Moortel on Jan. 11, 1947 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, East Moline.
Glen worked in the sheet metal department for 30 ? years at John Deere Harvester, East Moline retiring in November of 1977. He later worked part-time at American Legion Post #246 and also worked as a self-employed TV repairman.
Glen was an U.S. Army Airforce WWII veteran, B24 Engineer with the 724th Bomb Squadron of the 451st Bomb Group, 15th Air Force in Italy. He was a member for 44 years of the Moline American Legion Post #246; where he was a finance officer and volunteered in various other areas including their honor guard. He was a member of the 40/8 Voiture 237. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Bill Betson Council and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council Fr. Bader Assembly. He was also a member of the Iowa Quad City Ostomy Association.
