Gloria C. Blackaby

Gloria Carolyn Blackaby, 78, of Moline, passed away June 17, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday June 21, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. 

Gloria was born on January 9, 1946, in Starbuck, Minnesota, the daughter of Vernon and Esther (Swenson) Jergenson. She married Charles Blackaby on October 17, 1987, in Rock Island County. Gloria had been employed at Butterworth Elementary. She enjoyed reading, especially about the Civil War. Gloria was an avid fan of the Quad City Storm and Mallards. She loved to make crochet and tie blankets for her loved ones. Above all, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; children, Lisha Steiniger, Ronda Ritsema (Troy), Patricia Clemons (Curtis), Crystal Stahler (John), Charlene Samuelson (Dave); 25 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Jergenson (Sandy) and Roger Jergenson (Brenda).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon & Esther; sister, Linda; son, Michael; daughter, Michelle; grandchildren, Justin and Toni.
