Gordon "Gordie" Traub

Gordon "Gordie" Wayne Traub, age 68 of Colona, died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Trinity, Rock Island.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Brown Cemetery, Pocahontas, IL. Visitation is Tuesday, August 17, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Gordie was born January 10, 1942 in Breese, IL, the son of Nitzel "Jake" and Mayme (Tipsword) Traub. He married Sharon Wagner on May 29, 1965, and again on December 31, 2002.
Gordie was employed on the assembly line, and later as a welder for John Deere Plow & Planter for 30 ½ years. After retirement, he drove for Miller's Florist, Green Chevrolet, and Eriksen Chevrolet. Gordie loved country music, and played with the bands, ShagNasty & CocaCola Cowboys at the East Moline Legion for the past several years. He loved old cars, cowboy movies, writing and playing music, drawing, cracking jokes, and spending time with his family.
