Grace G. Engstrom, age 94 of Knoxville, IL. formerly of rural Orion, died Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to Beulah Presbyterian Church or Knox County Nursing Home.
Grace was born July 17, 1912 in Rock Island Co. the daughter of Ira and Ruth Hutchinson Bollman. After the death of her father when she was 6 year old, Grace's mother married Ira's brother Clyde Bollman who raised her . Grace married Lindorff "Lindy" Engstrom on August 6, 1940 in Coal Valley. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1981.
Grace and her husband farmed in Lynn Center. Grace was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church, Orion, she also attended church in Osco and Orion United Methodist Church when her children were young. Grace was an Osco War Mother, a member of Beulah TTS class, and was a Henry County Farm Bureau member. She enjoyed going to all Orion High School sporting events and was a 4 H member and leader. Grace was a former Rock Island County Queen. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and quilting
