Halbert L. Jackson, 51, of Rock Island, IL, died Sunday, August 7, 2016, at home.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his family. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Halbert was born on November 1, 1964, in Charleston, MO, the son of Willie Washington and Johnie M. Jackson Johnson. He worked in construction.
Halbert enjoyed working on cars doing body work and mechanics. He was an honorary member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Moline.
Survivors include his mother, Johnie M. Johnson, Moline; children, Markita (Dee) Brown, East St. Louis, IL, Shanika (Miranda) Jackson, Moline, IL, Halbert Jackson, Jr., Carbon Cliff, IL, Sergio Patt, Bettendorf, IA, Matthew Starks, Davenport, IA, Da Leesha Jackson, Rock Island, IL, Shawn Anthony Jackson, Rock Island, IL, Shantiya Abbey, Peoria, IL, and Demarco Jackson, TX; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; sisters, Laronda (Terry) Shelton, Kansas City, MO, and Johnna (Ernest) Jackson-Upchurch, Rock Island, IL; brothers, Darrel (Matosha) Jackson, Kansas City, MO, Marcus Jackson, St. Louis, MO, and Cory (Jessica) Ewing, Moline, IL; and a host of special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
