Harold Ivan McCollum, 96, of Silvis, IL, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial services will be at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to The Jim and Trudy Maloof St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Clinic.
Harold was born on January 2, 1921, in Linn County, Missouri, the son of Roy Francis and Lula Mae Beck McCollum. He married Helen Louise Kent on February 16, 1946, in Kansas City, MO. He worked for John Deere Harvester, retiring after 34 years in 1978.
Harold was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.
Survivors include his wife, Helen McCollum; children, Stanley McCollum, Milan, IL, Karen (Ben) Woolley, Orion, IL, and Kent McCollum, Ft. Madison, IA; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; sister, Rosalie King, Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers; 4 sisters; and a grandson, “Zach”.
