Harold W. Trich, age 92, of Moline, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at First Covenant Church, 3303-41st Street, Moline. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is at Moline Memorial Park with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or First Covenant Church, Moline.
Harold was born July 19, 1919 in Moline, the son of Warren and Mable (Fredell) Trich. He married Ruby L. Peterson on March 21, 1941 in Davenport.
Harold was employed as a Standard's Engineer at International Harvester for 40 years. In World War II, he was a Navy radar man 2nd class on the ship LSMR 199 which shelled the island in the Battle of Okinawa for the marine landing. Harold was a member of First Covenant Church in Moline, where he served as a trustee and groundskeeper.
