Harold Youngren, 75, of Davenport, IA, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate where military honors will be performed by Moline American Legion Post #246.
Harold was born on February 17, 1938, in Moline, IL, the son of Oscar and Margaret (Johnson) Youngren.
Harold received his Machinist Rating from Rock Island Pacific Railroad and began working as a machinist at Rock Island Lines in Silvis, IL. He then worked in machine repair at Farmall and later at the Rock Island Arsenal. Harold was a member of the Masonic Lodge 1014 A.F. & A.M. and a lifelong member of the Viking Club of Moline. He enjoyed model ship building, fishing and boating. In his younger years, Harold took family fishing trips to Minnesota.
