Harriet B. Turner

Harriet Bishop Turner, age 93, of Moline, died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Trinity, Rock Island after a brief illness surrounded by her family.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the Genesis Health Services Foundation, the Humane Society or the Disabled American Veterans.
Harriet was born on April 28, 1918 in Port Byron, Illinois to the late Arthur and Myrtle (Benson) Bishop. After graduating from Moline High School she was employed at Eagle Signal, in the cost department of Frank Foundries and later as a deputy assessor. A long time resident of Moline, she lived in Virginia and Pennsylvania during her husband, Byron's military career. He preceded her in death in 1974. She loved gardening, sewing and handiwork of all types and had a passion for antiques.
