Harris I. Bedney

Harris Ivan Bedney, 79, of Rock Island, passed away April 16, 2024, at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday May 9, 2024, at the Rock Island National Cemetery, with military honors to be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post 246. Anyone wishing to attend the services should meet at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, at 12:15 p.m. for the procession to the cemetery.

Harry was born on August 30, 1944, in Hope, Minnesota, the son of Tom and Bertha (Larson) Bedney. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Army. Harry retired from John Deere, where he worked as an engineer. He was active with both the Moline American Legion and the Moline V.F.W. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Mensa Group International.

Survivors include his siblings, Betty Lou Bakken of Glendale, Arizona, Tom (Christine) Bedney of Rural Byron, Minnesota, Richard Bedney of Rural Byron, Minnesota, Matthew Bedney of Sturgis, South Dakota; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pat.
