Harry Albert Johnson, age 89, of Moline, died Friday, December 17, 2004 at his residence
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at First Covenant Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary,Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to First Covenant Church or any Christian charitable fund.
Harry was born September 19, 1915 in Chicago, IL the son of Albin and Olga Johnson. He married Miriam Gunt on October 4, 1941 in Moline, IL.
Harry graduated from Roosevelt High School in Chicago and attended Wright Junior College, Chicago. He was employed by Chicago Floral Wholesale Florists as a salesman. In 1937 he came to Davenport with Raymond Uphoff and started the Tri-City Wholesale Florists. He served in the Armed Forces during World War II for 3 years. He was in the Pacific area on the Island of Hokaido. Returning to Moline he worked as a pressman for Strombeck Press for 18 years. He then returned to Tri-City Wholesale Florist until he retired in 1980.
Harry was a member of First Covenant Church in Moline, a member of the Board of Trustees for several years and did volunteer work for the church. He was active in the Dad's Club for the schools. He enjoyed working for Trinity Hospital as a volunteer. He belonged to the Tri-City Florist Club for over 50 years and held different positions in the club and was Honorary Member of the Club.
Harry was a fine woodcarver and also did beautiful stained glass pieces. He also loved working with flowers in his yard.

Many beloved nieces and nephews and other relatives and many beloved friends. We celebrate his life.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Johnson and his parents , brother, Harvey Johnson and sister Ellizabeth Johnson.
