Harry L. Kallenbach, 79, of Rio, IL, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Friday, March 8, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Saint Mary's Cemetery & Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Harry's wishes were for memorials to be made to his family.
Harry was born on August 21, 1933, in Niagara, WI, the son of Harry Ivan and Mildred (Vanvliet) Kallenbach. He married Ann Wates on March 5, 1983, in Green Rock, IL. For 24 years he worked as a welder for John Deere Harvester East Moline Works, retiring in 1989. Harry served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper. For 29 years he was a member of the Alpha American Legion and the Mason Rio Lodge where he was formerly a Past Master. He was a member of UAW of East Moline. Harry was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved fishing the Illinois River. He especially loved gardening, deer hunting, and golfing.
