Harvey "Bill" D. Dopler, 74 of Colona died January 24, 2004 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis IL.
Visitation will be Tuesday January 27, 2004 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be 11:00 Wednesday January 28, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd. Burial will follow at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Military Rites will be conducted by Colona American Legion. Memorials may be made to an Eduacational Trust Fund for his Grandchildren.
Harvey D. Dopler was born March 23, 1929 in Clinton County, Iowa the son of Dwight and Dorothy Lueders Dopler. He married Shirley A. Nelson on November 3, 1956 in East Moline. Harvey worked as a Pattern Maker with the John Deere Foundry E.M. retiring in 1987 after 41 years of service.
Harvey was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War, he was a member of the Colona American Legion, he was a member of the Pattern Makers League of America, he was a Colona City Councilman for 16 years. He was a member of the Geneseo Country Club and the Vikings Club. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting morels and loved to golf, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
