Heather was born March 25, 1949 in Richmond, VA, the daughter of Samuel H. Holding, Jr. and Rosalinde Willis Scott. She grew up in Ft. Lauderdale and came to Davenport for college in 1968. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Marycrest College and went on to receive her Master's Degree from the University of Iowa. Heather decided to make the Quad Cities area her home, as she was smitten by the people, values and the beautiful countryside of the midwest. She made many lifelong friends here and those same friends were there for her during her illness and brought much laughter and joy to her life.
Heather had been employed at Black Hawk College as an associate professor and counselor, retiring in 2009 after 36 years. She enjoyed gardening, historical preservation and collecting unique greeting cards. She was known for always finding the perfect gifts for her family and friends.
