Helen Cecelia Brown (86) of the Davenport Lutheran Home, passed quietly from this life on June 7th, 2013, at the Davenport Lutheran Home.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12th at the Davenport Lutheran Home, 1128-W. 53rd Street, Davenport. Officiating will be Chaplain Chris Lockie. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Helen was born on April 17, 1927. She married Milo Fred Brown in Davenport at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on May 4th, 1946. Milo preceded her in death in 1990.
Helen loved country music and followed Milo's band as well as in later years her son Mike's band "One Brick Shy" enjoying and listening to the tunes, dancing whenever she got the chance. She was very family orientated and spent most of her free time with other family member's playing cards and doing puzzles together. She loved baseball and attended many of her son's games over the years.
She is survived by four sons, Terry and Sue Brown of McCausland. IA, Michael and Pam Brown of Taylor Ridge, IL, son Robert and Bev Brown of Davenport, Milo Fred Jr. and Mary Brown, and daughter-in-law Sue Brown of LeClaire, IA and one daughter, Pat Fisher of Davenport. Over 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 6 brothers, William, Tom, George, Ray, David and Charles Rathburn and two sisters, Alice and Ella Mae, husband, Milo Fred Brown, daughter Debra Pruitt of Texas and son Mark Brown of LeClaire, IA.
