Hermina M. Lindell, 86, of Moline, died February 21, 2010 at Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island.
Celebration of Life memorial services will be held in the chapel at Trinity Lutheran Church Moline, IL on Thursday, February 25, 2010 with a visitation 11:00 AM and a service at 12:00, followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Born April 14, 1923 to Camiel and Marie (Hermans) Verheye in Waterlandkerkje, Zeeland, Netherlands. She immigrated to The United States in the company of her parents in September of 1924. Married Chester Flood in 1940, deceased. Married Leonard Lindell in August of 1965.
Mena was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, IL. She loved traveling, especially to her country of birth where she visited her many relatives, touring much of southern Europe with them. In later years, taking a cruise became her favorite way to travel, relax, and enjoy various destinations with her favorites being the Caribbean and Hawaii. Mena had a unique gift for growing flowers. Hosting parties for her friends and family was something she truly enjoyed, her ability to bake and cook made these occasions very special. Mena enjoyed reading, playing cards, and western movies. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband Leonard Lindell. Son, Ron (Pat) Flood, Orion, IL. Brother, Robert (Beverly)Verheye, Geneseo, IL. Sister, Loretta (Kenneth)Baze, Geneseo, IL. Grandchildren, Scott (Lori) Flood, Cambridge, IL. Lori (Jon) Pohl, Moline, IL. Chris (Doug) Nelson, Moline, IL. Great-Grandchildren: Kristen (Matt) Mulder, Kaila (Bryce) Hemphill, Nicholas Flood, Jenny Mortensen, Michael Pohl, Breann Nelson, Nathan Mortensen, Jeremy Pohl, Skylar Flood. Great-great grandchildren: Dominic Mulder and Owyn Mulder. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Bernice Hyatt.
