Hermon J. Colburn, 84, of Moline, died January 11, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation is Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to AWANA at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.
Hermon was born February 13, 1923 in Guin, AL to Emmitt and Velma Colburn. He married Vallie Ellis on January 8, 1944 in Hernando, MS. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2006.
Hermon was a sheet metal assembler for 33 years at John Deere where he received a service recognition award. He enjoyed fishing and woodcarving. He was a member of Mississippi Valley Woodcarvers Club and National Woodcarvers Club. He received multiple wood carving awards.
