Herschel Wayne Seales, age 80 of Moline died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island with military rites conducted by American Legion Post # 246.
Wayne was born January 30, 1926 in Beaverton, AL the son of Vewis and Florence Cantrell Seals. He married Betty Warren on August 6, 1951 in Fulton, MS.
Wayne was employed at the John Deere Foundry retiring in 1982. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving on the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain in the Pacific. Wayne was a charter member of the Mississippi Valley Country & Western Music Association. A versatile musician whose love of music encompassed many different styles, Wayne enjoyed sharing his original recordings from his home studio with his friends and family in the community. He was very active in the Baptist Church.
