Hobert R. LeMaster

February 14, 1918 — March 17, 2013

Hobert R. LeMaster, 95, of Moline, IL, arrived safely and peacefully in heaven Sunday evening, March 17, 2013, after fighting the good fight and completing the race.

Hob's Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at 1st United Presbyterian Church, 801 16th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens where military honors will be performed by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to 1st United Presbyterian Church where he was a 60 year member and Elder.

Hobert was born on February 14, 1918, in Nashville, WI, the son of Asa Prentice and Ada Florence (Logan) LeMaster. He graduated from Crandon High School in 1938 and attended 2 years of college at Langlade County Normal in Antigo, Wisconsin. Hobert became a Master Sergeant serving in the United States Army. He married Faye M. Whitt on April 25, 1942, in Koontz Lake, IN. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1997 after 55 years of marriage. For 20 years, Hobert worked as a switchman and yard master for Rock Island Lines, retiring in 1969. He enjoyed making stained glass and woodworking. Hobert was a man of infinite patience and determination.

He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Jeff LeMaster; son in law, Thomas Williams; and siblings, Donald, DeLoyce, Joyce, Elynor, and William.
