Howard “Dave” D. Myers, 80, of Moline, IL, died Monday, September 12, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center – Silvis Campus, Silvis, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
Dave was born on April 18, 1936, in Jasper, AL, the son of Howard B. and Lena Weeks Myers. He married Patricia Wells on September 27, 1958, in Moline, IL. He worked for Farmall for 31 years and then went on to work for the Q.C. Auto Auction for 28 years.
Dave was a big fan of Nascar and stock car races. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and painting gourds. Dave built his own airplanes, boats, and cars. He especially loved to fly and race them.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Myers; children, Denice (Jim) Durbin, Lisa (Scott) Weary, and Brian (Jennifer) Myers; 6 grandchildren, Drew, Tana, Ben, Merriyah, David, and Carissa; 6 great grandchildren, Carter, Camryn, Baby Burhans, Jayden, Wyatt, Heath, and Levi.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
