Ida Mae Rursch Corwin

Ida Mae Rursch Corwin, age 93, of Illinois City, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at her home.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no visitation. Public graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials can be given to the Quad City Alzheimer's Association. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Ida Mae was born February 2, 1917 in Montpelier, IA, the daughter of Clyde and Amanda (Bremer) Rursch. She married William R. Corwin on October 19, 1932. Even though they divorced, they later became very close and lived together in Buffalo Prairie for 10 years before his death in 2002. They were re-baptized by the Presbyterian Church in Buffalo Prairie.
Ida Mae had been living with her son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Darlene Corwin in Illinois City for the last six years.
Ida Mae enjoyed dancing in her earlier years. She and her brother, Carroll Rursch, were known throughout this area for their dancing. She enjoyed gardening, her many pets (Including her love for her American Saddlebred Horses), and her family. She was a homemaker, but did work as a housekeeper in Maine and Florida for a few years.
She is survived by:
Sons and daughter-in-laws, Carroll (Joyce) Corwin, Downey, CA. and Lloyd (Darlene) Corwin, Illinois City, IL.
Granddaughters and spouses::Kim Corwin, Buffalo Prairie; Darla (Jerry) Jackson, Moline; Cindy (Rick) Ward, Coyne Center; Lisa (Jay) Frazelle, Moline; Traci (Frank) Ehrecke, Davenport, IA; Theresa (Steve) Arias, Downey, CA; and grandsons: Robert, David, and Mickey Corwin, all of Downey, CA.
17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren
Sister-in-law, Dorothy Rursch of Moline.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carrol Rursch.
The family would like to thank the Beacon of Hope Hospice for all their care and love, especially the nurses, social workers, ministers and everyone who helped to make Ida Mae comfortable.
