Mrs. Ina Tropp Kingan, of Friendship Manor passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ina was born June 13, 1915 in Moline, IL, to Herman Teodore and Anna Charlotte Persson Tropp. She married David F. Kingan in Rock Island, December 7, 1935. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1988.
Mrs. Kingan graduated with honors from Moline High School in 1933. She was employed as secretary at the former John Deere Spreader Works, East Moline, retiring as secretary of Product Engineering, John Deere Harvester Works May 1973. Upon retirement, she moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, in May 1973, returning to Moline July 1990. After her return she enjoyed being a member of a group of Deere retirees who began publishing the John Deere Grapevine newsletter, where she was the Letters Editor and a staff writer. Mrs. Kingan was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Moline; the John Deere Women's Retirees group, and the American/Scandinavian Association at Augustana College.
Survivors include daughters Sharon Kingan Young (Donald) of West Des Moines, Iowa; Sandra Kingan Anderson (Ralph) of Davenport and Jupiter, Florida; and son David C. Kingan (Geraldine) Moline; 6 grandchildren, Susan Fenger (Russell) Beaverton, Oregon; Andrew Young, Bettendorf, Iowa; Julie Schick (Ford) Bettendorf, Iowa; Lisa Priester (Tom) Jupiter, Florida; David Kingan (Maria) Trumbull, CT., Andrew Kingan (Amy) Buffalo Grove, Illinois,14 great-grandchildren, and 1 niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, a nephew, a niece and a great grandchild.
