Jackie was born on March 6, 1963, in Fairfield, IA, the daughter of Lillian White and Leo Scotton. She graduated from La’ James cosmetology school. Jackie worked as a homemaker and as a lunch volunteer at the Colona grade school. She also coached her children’s sports and was part of the PTA. Jackie loved traveling, she’d travel the country with her husband in the semi-truck before they had children, and her love of traveling continued after having kids as the family would travel to Branson, Missouri. She was a huge fan of rock music, especially ACDC, and she loved them so much that she would play ACDC Rock Band, being the guitar player. Jackie loved spending time in the sun and often enjoyed camping and boating, and you could often find her doodling or drawing something. She could also put anyone away when drinking Jack Daniels. Jackie absolutely loved being a nana and spending time with all her grandchildren. You could always count on her to capture special family events as she loved taking pictures. Jackie was known to be a very involved mom and nana.

Survivors include her husband Dale V.; children Nicole Descamps (Adam), Samantha Kershaw (Jacob Sanderson), and Spenser Kershaw (Mackenzie Weber); grandchildren Oakley, Cru, and Emery Descamps; sisters Barbara Hatten, Diana Carlson, Cindy Nichols (Randy), and Christy Tague (Kelvin); and brother Jennings Hostetter (Joyce).

She was preceded in death by her parents Lillian White and Leo Scotton, and sister Dee Moore.

The family would like to extend their gratitude’s towards Jackie’s oncologist team at the University of Iowa, as well as the nursing staff at the Hammond-Henry Long Term Care Center in Geneseo, IL.

Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
