Jade Tristan Smilgis

Jade T. Smilgis, 32 of Moline, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus.
Visitation will be from 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 27, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to a fund established for his children.
Jade Tristan Smilgis was born to Vicki L. Howard and Joel Smilgis on June 5, 1978 in Silvis. He was employed in Hazmat Abatement for the former Wellington Company. On May 23rd, 2011 he was welcomed into the arms of his savior while surrounded by those who loved him dearly. Jade attended UTHS. He married Shenna Siefker, his first and only true love, on August 10, 1998 in Davenport. They have two children, 12 year old Aliyah and 1 ½ year old Kane. Jade's all too short earthly journey was often plagued with pain. But in spite of this adversity he remained a man with a gentle spirit and a loving and giving nature that he willingly extended to those in need. Above all, he was a devoted father who took great joy in the life and accomplishments of his 'little princess' Aliyah. His son Kane was the source of much happiness to him the brief time they had together. Jade had great faith in the Lord which he eagerly shared with others. He loved nature and all things wild and free. Now he has found the freedom to fly above the battles and cares of this world to be at peace with his beloved Jesus. Jade could always make us smile. As much as we wish he was here with us to make us smile now, we find peace in knowing the Lord had greater plans for him. He will be missed and loved always. "Come home, come home, all who are weary come home." Jade is home at last. Even though we miss him with all of our hearts, we rejoice and find comfort in knowing we all will be together again someday. We love you Jade.
