James "Jim" Edward Adams, age 83, of Rock Island, died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
Jim was born November 13, 1925 in Milledgeville, IL, the son of Harry and Helen (Goodrough) Adams. He married Joanne K. Fischer on October 31, 1964 in Morrison, IL.
Jim was employed as a carpenter. His last job was as a quality control manager for C. Iber & Sons. Jim was a navy veteran of World War II He was a member of Carpenter's Union Local 166, Rock Island, National Rifleman's Association, and the Milan Rifle Club for over 40 years. Jim enjoyed hunting, target shooting, and raised birds.
