James Joseph Bogguess

James Joseph Bogguess, age 80,of Port Byron died Monday, September 13, 2004 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 246. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his family for his children's educational fund.
James was born June 19, 1924 in Horton, KS the son of Richard and Cassie Woodson Bogguess. He married Alfreida Mitchell on April 17, 1949 in Clinton, Ia. He later married Barbara J. Filker Walker on February 14, 1974 in Woodhull. IL.
James was employed as a machinist for 36 years at International Harvester Works, East Moline, retiring in June, 1980.
James was a World War II navy veteran. He was also a foster parent for the DCFS from 1985-2001. James was a member and treasurer of Yours Mine and Ours Group, and also a member of the Quad Cities Dog Obedience Club forn 1971-1984.
