James L. Brown

James Brown, 67, of Colona, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., Monday, November 15, 2010 at the funeral home with a Fraternal Order of Eagles service at 7:00 P.M. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to James' family for a fund to be established.
James was born on July 28, 1943 in Moline, Illinois to Lawrence Ethrum and Nina Marie Mee Fetterley Brown. He married Dona J. Jones in 1959 in Davenport. They later divorced. He then spent 14 years with his fiancé Jano.
James worked in sales at Modern Woodmen starting in 1980. He currently owns and operates B + B Rentals with his sister in law Barb and late brother. He was a former member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island. He was a former president of Co Ed. at Edgewood Baptist. He was a dual member of the Rock Island and Silvis Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a past president of the Silvis Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid dart player at the East Moline American Legion. He enjoyed going out to eat, listening to Elvis and Conway Twitty. He also enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas.
