James "Jim" Buck

November 22, 1951 — December 4, 2010

James O. "Jim" Buck, age 59, of Moline, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Military rites will be by East Moline American Legion Post #227. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Moline.
Jim was born November 22, 1951 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Irvin and Shirley (Peel) Buck. He married Vicky L. Carlstrom on June 19, 1990 in Rock Island.
Jim was employed as an assembler at John Deere Harvester Works for 30 years, retiring in March, 2003. He was a U.S. veteran of the Marine Corps. Jim was a member of the East Moline V.F.W., East Moline Legion Post # 227, and the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed playing golf all over the Quad Cities. Family camping and camp fires at Hidden Lake were especially important to him, as was spending time with friends. Jim loved watching his grandson's football games.
