James C. Foushee Sr

James C. "Clint" Foushee, Sr. age 82 of Moline died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Visitation is from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island with military rites conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Moline American Legion Post #246 Honor Guard.
Clint was born January 8, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, IA and raised in Wilkes County, NC., the son of Frank B. and Viola A. (Mathisen) Foushee. He married Eleanor Powell on March 1, 1946. She preceded him in death on July 26, 1967. He later married Marie Applegate on October 1, 1972. She preceded him in death on December 30, 1976.
Clint was retired from Wagners Printers, Davenport, IA after 31 years of service. He later worked at Stamats Publishing, Cedar Rapids for 9 years. Clint was an army veteran of World War II, European Theater 3 Battle Stars. He was awarded combat medals including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, and was also presented the Croix de Guerre with palm leaf by the French Government. Clint was a life member of Masonic Lodge #658 Rock Island, 32nd Degree Mason, life member Valley of Moline Consistory, Moline Hi-TWELVE, member of Rock Island Elks Lodge #980, life member of Moline American Legion Post #246 where he was a member of the Firing Squad and Color Guard, member of Rock Island County Voiture #237 - 40 & 8 Life Member, life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #9, Rock Island County, IL, charter member of The Battle of Normandy Foundation, charter member of the American Air Museum in Duxford, England, member of the 313th Infantry Regiment Association, Combat Infantryman's Badge, life member of the Quad-Cities Printing House Craftsman's Club, life member of the Printing Pressmen Union #198, member of AARP & Plus 60 Club, member for over 40 years of the Farm Bureau of Rock Island County, member of the Moline Vikings, also a Thor member, former member of the Auxiliary for the Rock Island Care Center and Oak Glen Home, member of the Illinois Audubon Society, former member of Rock Island Police Auxiliary for 13 years, former volunteer for Trinity Medical Center Hospice and also the Salvation Army, past deacon of 26 years of the 15th Avenue Christian Church and has dual membership at 15th Avenue Christian Church of Rock Island and Wildwood Baptist Church of East Moline. Clint enjoyed walking, fishing, bird watching and his dogs, Jacques and Mctavish (Mac).
