James Edward Hayes, 63, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at home.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at the funeral home. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Island.
James was born on September 25, 1951, in Great Bend, KS, the son of Glenn Edward and Mary Margaret Simpson Hayes. He graduated from Kansas State University and married Debi Tuman on June 6, 1981, in Milan, IL. He was an office worker at TACOM for the Rock Island Arsenal for 32 years, retiring in June of 2008.
In his younger years, James was a former Little League coach and Cub Master. He was a past member of the Rock Island Historic Society and a member of the Rock Island County Genealogy Society.
