James Wiley Lackey

December 6, 1931 — November 4, 2010

James W. Lackey, 78, a longtime resident of the Quad Cities and Monmouth Illinois went on to be with the Lord on November 4th, at Roseville Rehab and Healthcare with his extended family present.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7th, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Funeral Mass will be 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November 8th, 2010 at St. Pius X, 2502 29th Avenue, Rock Island. Interment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.
James was born on December 6th, 1931 in Pierce Oklahoma. He married Ramona M Morales on August 17th, 1977 in Monmouth and later had their marriage blessed at St. Pius X on April 22nd, 1989.
James was a Master Wood Patternmaker for over 40 years in Texas, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan and New York. He was an Instructor of Patternmaking at Black Hawk College and worked at the Quad City Times.
James was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and Election Official in Warren County. James enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and making tables, but above all he loved spending time with his family. He also greatly enjoyed making kiddie cocktails for his grandchildren and teaching them about fishing.
James is survived by his wife Ramona,

25 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a loving extended family.
James was preceded in death by his parents: Fred Lackey and Roy & Francis (Lackey) Rousseau, his sister Fredalynn Damron, daughter: Isidra and grandchildren: Joshua, Sophia & Adam.
