James R. McCray, 72, of Moline, died September 10, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, Davenport.
Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-39th Ave., Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scott County Family YMCA (606 W 2nd St. Davenport, IA 52801).
Jim was born November 15, 1934 in Crandall, MS to James and Olivia (Burden) McCray, Sr. He attended Augustana College. He married Ramona Grissom on September 27,1956 in Rock Island.
Jim was a self-employed accountant and owned McCray Accounting Service for 35 years. He previously worked at ALCOA and Bituminous Insurance Company.
Jim was a member of the Scott County Family YMCA. He enjoyed bicycling, skiing, sailing, canoeing, racquetball and running. He was a board member for One Church One Child, a member of Bible Study Fellowship, Independent Accountants Association of Illinois, and various community service organizations.
