James J. Runyan, age 84, longtime resident of Lend-a-Hand in Davenport, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Jim was born March 2, 1923 in Davenport, the son of Edgar and Alice (Palmer) Runyan.
Jim was employed as a bell hop for the Blackhawk Hotel and the Sears Building in downtown Davenport. He was a Davenport High School graduate. Jim loved to serve the public.
