James Spore

February 16, 1934 — September 24, 2016

James H. Spore, 82, of Moline, passed away on September 24, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to the Moline High School Bass Fishing Team.

James was born February 16, 1934, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Joseph & Thelma Gravitt Spore.  He married Janet M. Lewis in October of 1952.  She preceded him in death in 1986 in Moline.

James was an operator at Alcoa, retiring in 1989.  He enjoyed fishing, making fishing lures, and traveling, especially to the North Woods in Minnesota.  He especially loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother, Joseph.
