James "Jim" M. Ririe

James “Jim” M. Ririe, 81, of East Moline, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge-Rochester, MN. The family asks that all who attend dress casually.

Jim was born on March 13, 1942, in Peoria, IL, the son of Merle and Margaret (Mahannah) Ririe.  After a former marriage, he married Diane Diercks on June 14, 1999, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Jim graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana in 1965.  He began his career in the Chicagoland area with Dupont and Glidden. He relocated to the Moline area in 1976 to join the Moline Paint Company.  Jim enjoyed over 30 years with Moline Paint/it’s successors as an industrial paint sales representative and account manager serving Caterpillar, John Deere, and various other industrial accounts.  He retired in 2007 from Moline Paint’s successor Valspar. When not outdoors enjoying his favorite hobby of fishing, Jim enjoyed following Formula 1 Racing, and Major League Baseball.  Jim was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Survivors include wife, Diane; two children, six step-children, four grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren, and several step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one stepchild, and one step-grandchild.
