Janet Marie Pierce, 76, of Moline, died July 6, 2013 at Unity Point-Trinity Rock Island.
A memorial visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan. Per her wishes cremation will be accorded.
Janet was born on November 16, 1936 in Moline to Arthur and Lillian Perry Hoffman. She married David Pierce on November 17, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline.
Janet was employed with the Moline Daily Dispatch for over 20 years retiring in 1987. During that time she held many different positions including; carrier, switchboard operator and later as a bookkeeper.
Janet was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline and was very active volunteering with many different organizations. She enjoyed her water aerobics classes at the YMCA and loved to read and work Sudoku and crossword puzzles. She was always very organized and her favorite saying was "A place for everything and everything in its place". Above all her true love was her family and being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
