Janice Ruth Hasty

Janice Ruth Hasty, 64, of Moline, Ill, passed away Thursday, April, 8, 2010, in Birmingham, Al, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. She was born on March 13, 1946, and was the oldest of three children to Willard and Hilda Enderton. She married the love of her life, James Hasty, on June 21, 1969. Their unfailing love produced 4 faithful children. Jan loved the Lord Jesus Christ more than anything in her life and throughout her constant struggles as of late she continued to have pressing faith that God was still in control. She was known for her boisterous laugh, a bigger than ever smile, and beautiful, serene eyes. Jan loved to talk, make others feel welcomed, and she absolutely loved the beach. She wanted to thank all the nurses and doctors at UAB (9th floor) for their patience and generosity within the past year. May she wear her crown of heavenly jewels with pride.
Jan is survived by her wonderful husband of 40 years: James Allen Hasty. Her children: Jason Hasty, Jodi and Patrick Rhyne, Jenny Hasty, and Julie Hasty. Her grandchildren: Patrick A. Rhyne, Emma Rhyne, and Gracie Rhyne. Her mother: Hilda Enderton. Her siblings: Richard Enderton and Susan Amundson. Her in-laws: Margaret Hasty, Bev and Loras Hart, Bodil Enderton and Paul Amundson. Her nieces and nephews: Jacob and Lisa Amundson, Jeff Wasson, Sarah Amundson, Daniel Enderton, Maria Enderton, Lori Wasson, Becky Amundson, and Abigail Amundson.
Jan is predeceased by her father: Willard Enderton and her father-in-law: Edward Hasty.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Elim Covenant Church in Moline, with visitation from 11:00-12:30 p.m. prior to the service, and she will be buried at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Ill. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in honor of Jan Hasty. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family with the arrangements.
