Janice D. Pappas

Janice D. Pappas, 88, of Swedona, passed away December 4, 2024, at Unity Point Health Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday December 11, 2024, at Swedona Lutheran Church, 1493 Knoxville Rd, Lynn Center, IL. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Esterdahl Funeral Home, 1301-4th Street, Orion. Burial will be at Swedona Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Swedona Lutheran Church, where Janice was a member.

Janice was born on March 17, 1936, in Suez Township, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Susie (Downer) Tomlinson. She married Charles O. Pappas on April 10, 1954, in Swedona. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2012. Janice had previously worked as a beautician. She was an avid bowler, participating in both the Alpha and Orion Leagues. She was a member of the Missouri Trail Riders, enjoyed camping, playing cards with family and bingo at the Aledo American Legion.

Survivors include her children, Charles Pappas, Milan, Mark (Cynthia) Pappas, New Windsor, Chris Secymore, Swedona; grandchildren, Alica (Joe) Jensen, Viola, Lisa (Jeremy) Lindburg, Swedona, Jennifer (Matt) Carlson, Alpha, Christopher (Allison) Pappas, East Moline, Chelsea (Sean) Tripp, Moline, Bryce Pappas, Swedona, Haleigh Pappas, Milan; great grandchildren, Karie Sanders, Brian Sanders, Bella Jensen, Brayden Carlson, Brock Carlson, Haisley Lindburg, Nathan Bagwell, Genevieve Pappas, William Tripp, Henry Tripp, Rex Schweska; great great grandchild, Elisha Sanders; sister, Sharon (Roger) Bates, New Windsor 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, parents; brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Theresa Tomlinson and niece, Staci Weston.
