Janice E. “Janny” Wexell, 78, of Lynn Center, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Bickford Cottage, Moline.
Private burial will be at the Bishop Hill Cemetery. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family.
Janny was born on February 26, 1941, in Galva, IL, the daughter of Arnold and Lois (Durbin) Selman. She was raised in Altona and Bishop Hill graduated from Galva High School. She married Robert “Bob” Wexell in April 21, 1962, in Altona and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2001. In 1967, Janny and Bob moved to Lynn Center “to their little piece of heaven” where they farmed and raised cattle. She loved horses and cows and spent much of her time helping and rehabilitating wildlife. Janice loved to paint, draw and journal; she had many special pets including her deer, Susie Doe, her pot-bellied pig, Mrs. Oleson, her horses Doc and Rivers, and her special dogs, Baby Dog and Oakie.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Yoder; granddaughters, Amber Spring and Callie (Curtis) Hull; great grandchildren, Maverick and Sawyer Hull; brother, Ronnie Selman and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Chad Yoder; brothers, Gene and Rex Selman; sister, Marilyn Davis; and special friend, Les Girven.
