Janie Edna Colburn

Janie Edna Colburn, 81 of Colona died Sunday evening, April 29, 2007 at home, after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Graveside services will be immediately following the funeral at Rose-Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st at the funeral home.
Janie was born November 11, 1925 in Robards,KY. to Oney and Oma Gish.
She moved to Rock Island, IL in 1960 where she worked for many years at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was a woman of great faith and was a devoted prayer warrior. She enjoyed caring for her beloved grandchildren until her illness.
She is survived by her son Samuel Dean Colburn and his wife Jennifer of Hampton, IL; her daughters Marsha Ann Benedict and her husband Kerry "Ben" of Moline, IL; Kimberly Goetz and her husband Rick of Colona; Maxine Rae Rice and her husband Bruce of Quincy, IL; and Brenda Joyce Beach of Evansville, IN. Her brothers Oney Gish, Jr.; Glen and Jan Gish; Gary and Josie Gish; a sister Goldie James and her brother-in-law Jack Willis; sister-in-law Edith Gish also survive her.
She has 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren (with one on the way) and 4 great, great, grandchildren as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Norma Jean Pasley and her brother Hershel Gish, as well as her two husbands J.C. Colburn and William H. Flewallen.
