Janie (Eberhardt) Fiebig

Janie Fiebig, 75, of Silvis passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with an extended illness.

A funeral service will be 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. in Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline.  Memorials may be made to her family.

Janie was born on October 18, 1946, the daughter of Vincent and Marjorie Swinke Eberhardt.  She married Richard “Dick” Fiebig on December 11, 1965, in Sterling, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on March 11, 2018.

Janie was employed at the former Forest Hill Nursing Home.  She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and traveling.  Her most cherished trips were to Disney World with her granddaughter, Alyssa.  Janie also enjoyed attending Alyssa’s cheer and dance recitals.

She is survived by her daughters; Rhonda Moore of Moline and Kris Fiebig-Sierra of Silvis; honorary daughters, Amy Verstraete and Valerie O’Rourke; grandchildren, Alyssa Sierra and Ashley Sierra; great grandchildren, Cruz and Cora; siblings; Jon (Lidi) Eberhardt, Jackie (Rick) Cook and Joleen (Brad) Pyse and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her husband and parents.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Compassus Hospice for their excellent care to Janie in her final days.
